| | | |

Wilderness ARC , the organization hosting the 2007 Adventure Racing Championship in Scotland, described the 2006 Adventure Racing Competition this way:

"In 2006, teams of 4 raced together, unsupported, over a 250 mile course through the Western Highlands of Scotland. Competitors will power themselves through historic glens and over famous mountain passes, across enchanted lochs and through the splendour of the region, carved from the last ice age and uniquely shaped through time by nature and man.The journey will only involve human powered transport and disciplines may include trail running, mountain biking, canoeing, ropework, swimming and others. Navigation will be an integral component of the entire race."

The dates for the 2007 race were announced on January 12th, and many teams are already planning for a competition that will be the highlight of the 2007 adventure racing season, and the culmination of the AR World Series.

Interval running iTunes playlist

| | | | | | | | | | | |

Interval runner Jeff Welch developed a script which creates an iTunes playlist in which songs stop and start at timed intervals so he knows when to switch from running to walking without checking his watch.

The script only works on Windows with iTunes, and it inserts a little DING! noise between songs signalling you to switch gears. Sync it to your iPod and you’re ready to run, no watch required. Read more:
