The doping controversy surrounding this year's Tour de France cycle race has done for Lance Armstrong's former team that dominated professional cycling for a decade.

The team won eight of the last nine Tours with Armstrong winning seven of them. But it will lose its sponsor Discovery Channel at the end of the season and cannot find a replacement.

"It's not an environment right now that's conducive to a lot of investment," the team's general manager, Bill Stapleton told the Associated Press. The team was looking for a reported $45 million over three years. More
